Official: Gavi Returns to Barcelona After 205 Days Out Due to Injury
Barcelona has officially confirmed that young midfielder Gavi is ready to feature in the upcoming match against Sevilla after recovering from a right knee injury that kept him sidelined for 205 days.
The 21-year-old underwent knee arthroscopy on September 23, 2025, to repair a medial meniscus tear, including suturing to stabilize the joint. Gavi followed a strict rehabilitation program, enabling his gradual return to training and match fitness.
Earlier this season, he played limited minutes—20 minutes against Mallorca and 45 minutes against Levante—before experiencing discomfort that required surgery.
Coach Hans Flick can now select Gavi for the Sevilla match, a long-awaited return for the team and fans. Gavi, a product of La Masia, is known for his strong personality, passion, and commitment to Barcelona.
